The Road Not Taken poem
A fork in the road that I chase is playing baseball. Playing baseball can go both ways, whether one success or a demise. However, I didn’t want to look back on that and say I wish I played. Leading back to the poem in the last stanza, Robert Frost states, “I shall be telling this with a sigh, Somewhere ages and ages.” The main character knows he’d regret this decision one day by relating the dilemmas that have come up and how he’ll deal with them in the future, yet “with a sigh,” ultimately giving the reader signs of regret. This deep connection of guilt is something I sensed in the past as I thought as well, what if I had chosen another road where it didn’t include sports or one with only sports. All in all, I will know sooner or later “somewhere ages and ages” if I tell my story with a sigh or not.
